Hot Tapping, also known as Pressure Tapping, involves creating a connection to an existing piping or pressure vessel without disrupting or draining the affected section.
This technique is beneficial for various scenarios, including new construction, tie-ins, maintenance, and emergency situations.
The service is available for piping systems and vessels up to 60 inches in diameter, and fittings come in a range of styles such as split tee, nozzle with repad, bolt-on, and weld-o-let. Hot Tapping can also be applied to flat surfaces such as tanks and manway covers.
The standard Hot Tapping system is designed to handle 700°F at 700 psig.
